Asphalt

Asphalt is the most common type of residential roofing. There are three types of asphalt shingles:  Basic strip shingles, dimensional shingles that are thicker and multi-layered and premium with designs that mimic slate or wood.  Shingle manufacturers have created colors that can increase energy efficiency and some shingles even offer algae resistance to guard against the black stains and streaks.  A wide range of color choices or shadowing to add a dimension to the shingles can beautifully accent the exterior of your home.
